Income Tax Filing Deadlines Extended for AY 2025–26
The Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) has extended the deadlines for filing Income Tax Returns and audit reports for the Assessment Year 2025–26. This move offers relief to taxpayers and professionals by giving them more time to complete their filings.
The Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) has announced an extension in the due dates for filing Income Tax Returns (ITR) and audit reports for the Assessment Year 2025–26.
For taxpayers requiring audit:
The deadline to file ITR has been extended from 31st October 2025 to 10th December 2025.
For furnishing audit reports:
The earlier extended date of 31st October 2025 has now been further extended to 10th November 2025. Originally, the deadline was 30th September 2025.
This extension provides additional time for businesses and professionals to complete their filings without last-minute pressure.
A formal notification from CBDT will be issued separately to confirm these changes.
